The Advantages of Niche Marketing

Saturday, August 2nd, 2008
by Gunnar Berglund

Niche marketing has become the new powerhouse way of making money in the business world–not just with a bricks and mortars store, either, but also (and perhaps even more so) on the Internet.

Niche marketing is a way of business that addresses the fact that in today’s market, there is a lot of competition in almost every industry. Niche marketing recognizes that there are businesses trying to stand up against top competitors like Target and Wal-Mart. To stand against these companies, it is important to have a large some of start-up cash, but very few people have a large sum of money to put into their business. When going against big companies, failure is always hovering above. Today it seems that everyone is making something and there are plenty of places to with enough merchandise volume that allows them to undersell their competitors, especially on small profit margins. Many new businesses, however, cannot afford to do this.

But, with niche marketing, you leverage something that not that many others have: your specialized knowledge of or interest in a focused, narrow field. With niche marketing, just as the name implies you fit yourself into a certain niche, and you target only those people who happen to have an interest in or need of the products within your niche.

There is far less competition in a small niche than there is in an industry with a larger range. The competition is reduced significantly. Due to all of the competitors sharing the same knowledge and being in need of similar profits they compete with quality and uniqueness of merchandise. Those shopping within a specific niche normally care more about having something different and that it is of amazing quality and the service received is good than they do about the price of the items.

There are more and more success stories of people who start up or get involved with affiliate marketing niche businesses on the Internet. The Internet provides the fastest, broadest, cheapest way of reaching the broadest possible swath of prospects and customers within a given niche. What’s more, it costs very little money to create and maintain a niche marketing website, or even a handful of them.

Commissions are earned from the sales of products off the website with an affiliate marketing program. You can own a business and pay people a percentage of the sales made on your behalf or you can become an affiliate yourself. This is where you sell something for others. You bring people to the website and they buy the niche products and you earn commissions off of them.

Offering a product or service that interests you is important when having a niche business. You are more likely to learn enough to be an expert if you are interested in something. An enormous competitive advantage is gained though a high level of expertise when it comes to niche marketing. Real enthusiasm is projected when something is interesting to you and potential customers will see this. This increases the chances they will buy from you.

And the other important thing, once again, is that your niche is something narrowly focused and unique. It may be selling the secrets of growing the perfect tobacco at home, or it may offer a one-of-a-kind customizable discounted greeting card making and mailing service, or it may offer pre-paid legal services that cost only a few dollars a month. Whatever it is just must interest you and be as unique as possible.

Done right, niche marketing can bring you in far more money and give you vastly more freedom and satisfaction than you’ll get from a j-o-b.

Passive Income is Financial Freedom

Saturday, August 2nd, 2008
by Troy Smith

A wise person once said that he would rather earn from 1% of 100 people’s efforts than earn from 100% of his own. This man then became one of the wealthiest men in our history - James D. Rockefeller. He introduced many concepts that allow businesses to prosper, including leverage and working smarter. Do you feel as though there is a limit to how much money that you can make because you cannot work any harder?

The solution to your problem is the idea of passive income. Passive income is the idea of setting up streams of income that will work for you without you having to invest your time. Once you set up a passive income, it mostly works on autopilot and you can make money while you are working on other endeavors in life.

No matter what position you may be in at the moment, the sooner you commence your conquest to retain passive income, the more quickly financial burdens will be lifted off your shoulder. There are a few important strategies that will assist you in attaining this goal.

One way to create a passive income is the idea of residual income. This is a monthly income from something that you put time into investing only once. You can establish a residual income by selling unique, electronic products online to a stream of customers. This method is entirely automated by allowing digital delivery and payment.

You can also create a residual income by selling e-books. You do not even need to create an e-book yourself, simply buy resell rights and profit from that. Some other methods may require work such as an insurance worker phoning a consumer to renew their policy. For these tasks, you can hire someone to do this for you.

Leveraged income allows the labor of additional individuals to establish an income for you. In this method, you create an income off of others people’s toil, instead of your own. This strategy may or may not second as residual income, which when combined with leveraged income, is twice as efficient.

Active leveraged income, on the other hand, does involve your immediate contribution. Despite this, even more money can be earned by means of getting more people drawn in. It also mostly only includes a single occurring event. Even though you have to take part in the creation of an active leverage income, the prospects of making money are greatly increased in comparison to if one were simply paying you an hourly wager.

You can have the freedom to do whatever you want to do and be whatever you want to be sooner than you think without being concerned about money. If you can simply create an item people will continuously purchase, encourage others to assist in the resale of your product, and find methods to make money off of the labor of other people, you will establish this freedom that you, and many others like you, have been searching for their entire lives.

NCO Group - End the Calls

Saturday, August 2nd, 2008
by Justin Hutto

You are being contacted by NCO Financial concerning a delinquent debt. NCO Financial is commonly referred to as NCO group, NCO collections or a similar variation. NCO is third party collection agency with a checkered history.

NCO is typically hired by a lender to come in and collect delinquent debts. They are known for using intimidation, threats and harassment at tools to collect on a debt.

NCO was punished in 2004 for violating the Fair Credit Reporting Act. They were caught working the credit system in an attempt to keep a delinquent debt on the borrowers’ credit report for longer than 7 years. They were forced to pay $1.5 million dollars to the FTC.

Collection agencies in general have a history of abusing debtors. They will call your home, place of work, friends and relatives all in an attempt to collect the debt. So in order to stop the calls, you must write the collection agency a letter. In this letter you simply tell the collection agency to stop contacting you regarding collection of the debt.

You should send this letter certified mail and save copies of all communication between you and the collection agency. These copies will be evidence if a lawsuit is necessary or to just file a complaint.

The collection agency will be able to notify you of how they plan on continuing the collection. Then according to the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act they agency can no longer contact you. This legislation was created in 1996 because congress needed to protect debtors from the collection agencies and their collection methods.

The FDCPA states that collection agencies can not misrepresent themselves or threaten a debtor. Unfortunately this is often disregarded because collection agencies are known to threaten imprisonment to debtors and call neighbors or relatives in an attempt to humiliate the debtor into payment.

The FDCPA was passed to protect people and unfortunately enforcement is lacking. Filling a law suit can be very frustrating and expensive. Many collection agencies are fly by night operations that have made it there business to hide assets from lawsuits.

These Pug Health Problems Can Be A Serious Matter

Saturday, August 2nd, 2008
by Lee Dobbin

You can’t help but love a cuddly pug. Their cute little wrinkly faces and adorable characters can’t be ignored. However, anyone that is contemplating adopting one should make sure that they know about the dire pug health problems that the breed faces.

Many people do not know that while the pug’s face is so cute, it is also a problem area. First off, the bulging of a pug’s eyes is caused by the face’s shape and eye placement. This can cause the eyes to get cut if they rub up against the food bowl or any other object. This should be carefully watched for, however it is not a life threatening issue.

The Pug’s face shape can be related to the problem of an elongated soft palate. In a Pug, this soft tissue at the back of the roof of the mouth can be longer than it should be, and can restrict the airway. The wheezing and odd breathing that is common in Pugs can be one symptom. It may also cause loud snoring and coughing up their food. Thankfully this can be corrected with surgery.

Sadly, there are two other Pug health problems that are much more serious in nature.

A fatal disease which generally affects Pugs from two to three years old is known as Pug Dog Encephalitis. Some common symptoms of this disease may include swelling of the brain, seizures, muscle weakness, and trouble walking. There is not a lot of information about this disease, except when it strikes it is fatal. If your dog displays any of these symptoms, it does not necessarily mean he or she has Pug Dog Encephalitis, but you should take your pet to a Veterinarian immediately.

Hemi-vertebrae is a birth defect in Pugs. The vertebrae don’t grow the way they should and this causes andimbalance in the spine. The pressure on the spine from this imbalance can cause the back legs to be paralyzed as the dog grows. Fortunately, the condition can be found on an X-ray, so you don’t adopt a dog with the problem. If you do have a Pug with the condition, he’ll probably have to be put to sleep because there aren’t many treatments for it.

These possible pug health problems should be definitely take into consideration by anyone contemplating adoption. On the other hand, it shouldn’t be weighed too heavily, because only a small amount of pugs will endure these terrible issues.

The Advantages of a Franchise

Saturday, August 2nd, 2008
by Franco Andretti

Do you have an entrepreneurial spirit? Maybe you should consider starting your own business and being your own boss. Operating an outlet franchise chain could be just right for you.

Operating a franchise compared to a conventional start-up company does have a lot of benefits. You will need to compare and consider all of the good and bad factors for operating this kind of business.

Some may find franchises to be a wonderful alternative whereby others may pass on this type of business venture. There will definitely be times when the franchiser will make certain decisions on your behalf and if you are not one to relinquish control then you may not want to take any further action towards this goal. Also, the company’s philosophy may not agree with you either. So, when searching for a franchise be sure to choose one that fits your personality and business philosophies.

Joining a franchise offers many benefits that should be considered. An example is operating under a brand name of a popular and well-established product or service. Usually you would have to work long days and nights just to get your business started but by owning a franchise, the franchiser has vested interests in your success so he or she will be with you to assist you in getting your franchise open in the least amount of time.

The franchiser may already have a general business plan ready for you to integrate into your business. It will most likely not be complete but it can be used as an outline and there will be aspects that you may not have originally considered.

Advertising and the costs associated with it is another aspect of your franchise that you will not have to worry about. The radio jingles or other advertising spots will not cause you to have sleepless nights.

Where to source your goods and dealing with merchandising and packaging concerns is the responsibility of the franchiser. In addition, he or she will be there to assist you to train your staff and show them how to be effective with the customers. If at any time you decide to sell your franchise the franchiser will help you with that also.

Another advantage is when the franchiser discusses and reviews all of the health and safety regulations with you along with any other laws pertaining to your area. Hefty fines could be the result of not following the legal guidelines set for all businesses. Therefore, franchisers will be eager to ensure your new business is fully operational in all aspects.

By starting a new franchise you will already have advantages over other non-franchised companies. A franchise that already has an established reputation combined with your efforts will be sure to pay big dividends.

The Amazing Maine Coon Cat

Saturday, August 2nd, 2008
by John Savage

The Maine Coon Cat which must be one of the biggest of the domestic breed of cats is readily recogised by its lovely bushy tail and its striped and long fur. The Maine Coon Cat belongs to North America and not surprisingly is a native of the state of Maine, and it is the State Cat.

The Maine Coon is not a new cat, it has been around for over a hundred years and it is generally thought that their large size, and the way that their paws are made and the density of their fur makes them able to put up with the severe winters which are often experienced in New England. On top of this, their fur is such that it is able to repel water really well.

As with so many domestic animals, a number of legends have grown up around them, some which may be true, and others which definitely are not. It has been suggested that the Maine Coon is a product of the domestic cat and the raccoon mating, but most experts think this is not possible. Other suggestions are that the native North American cat mated with the Vikings cat, and this is a possibility because of the similarity between the Maine Coon and the Norwegian Forest Cat.

At one time only the brown tabbie was considered to be a proper Maine Coon, any cat of a different color was called a Maine Shag Cat. The people who have studied the Maine Coon over the years are generally of the opinion that long haired cats from overseas, probably Europe, mated with the domestic short haired cat, and produced what we know today as the Maine Coon.

Does it surprise you to learn that the Maine Coon in many ways is more like a dog than a cat? They are wonderfully sociable animals, who will respond to you when you call them, and will be waiting to greet you when you return home. They give a lot of love and they expect a lot of love in return.

In the early days of cat shows, going back to 1861, the Maine Coon was a popular participant, but when the Persians came along in the 1900’s the Maine Coon went into decline. However their fortunes revived in the 1950’s and in 1968 the Maine Coon Breeders and Fanciers Association was formed with the purpose of protecting the breed. Despite this it was not until 1980 that the breed was recognized by all cat registries.

Today, there are thousands of people who own, show and adore the Maine Coon Cat. The MCBFA, which was founded so long ago, by just six breeders, now has a membership of over 200 breeders, with approximately 2000 other members (non-breeders) as well.

Looking for a Franchise Opportunity Close to Home?

Saturday, August 2nd, 2008
by Franco Andretti

There are so many reasons why someone would be motivated to consider a franchise opportunity. Tired of the daily drive and spending so much valuable time in traffic or just need a new career challenge? So many successful franchises are out there and there are many options when choosing the perfect franchise for your locale.

A couple ways to locate a franchise is by using the Internet and searching for those opportunities in your area. Also, you can be part of a mailing list and be kept informed on announcements and newsletters that provide information regarding new franchises that have become available.

Property that is new and has just opened up for business development is usually the place where business franchises host a fair or expo. By attending one of these events you will get helpful pointers and maybe that particular piece of land has been assessed as a lucrative location for a new franchise. Learning from experienced and knowledgeable franchise owners would be to your advantage.

At this time you may have a general idea about what type of franchise you might be considering. Now you should speak to as many franchise owners in your area as possible, and even the ones that have closed their business as well. Their input will help you to make a more informed decision when you are ready. Explore all franchise industries and be open to new and exciting opportunities.

What benefits does opening a franchise in your local area bring you?

You know a few people in your area, right? You’re even familiar with some of their likes and dislikes, their spending habits, whether they’d be willing to part with their cash for a service, and which services they’d benefit most from. This gives you an edge in your locality that a stranger doesn’t have. Neighbors and friends might even give you their business because they’re eager to support your entrepreneurship as well as the local economy. Conversely, if you set up some distance away, you’ll need to familiarize yourself with the people of the area and their habits. You’ve lost that edge.

The quality of everyone’s life also needs to be taken into consideration. As people move around and are filling up less populated areas then new communities grow and become cities. With the invention of the automobile came rush hour traffic. Roads have become congested, people are spending more time travelling back and forth in their cars or using public transportation in order to get to work.

Obviously, there are so many benefits and advantages to opening up a local franchise in your locality. Being only minutes from home, no more commuting and the ease of dropping in at work to see how things are going. These are just a few of the reasons to open your own franchise close to home today!

Tips On How To Build An Herb Garden

Saturday, August 2nd, 2008
by Lee Dobbins

Unlike many other plants, all herbs need to thrive is plenty of sun and a little bit of water. They do not require any sort of spraying, trimming or fertilizing and can grow in almost any type of soil, so learning how to build an herb garden is a pretty simple task.

That being said, you can’t just throw some seeds in the ground and expect a great garden. You need to have some basic herb garden plans before you start planting.

Because herbs can grow well in poor conditions, it is easy for them to overgrow. Lavender and yarrow can grow like wildfire over large areas. Even chives can proliferate quickly. Be sure you have enough space in your pot or garden for the plants you wish to grow.

You should be fine as long as your herb garden plans include about 1 foot of room between major areas. Chives are an example of an herb that grow well in a bunch. However the roots need a sufficient amount of nutrients and water and anything planted near them will have to compete for those.

Soil preparation for herbs is important when learning how to build an herb garden, but it is not difficult. A wide range of herbs will thrive on a mix of clay and sandy loam or a good compost. Be sure to provide sufficient drainage. A good amount of herbs originate from the Mediterranean, so they can thrive in somewhat dry and rocky soil. Their evolution occurred in areas with adequate drainage, but all herbs need watering. Be sure the soil is moist, but not soaking wet.

For example, sage and lavender can thrive with nearly no manual watering. Natural rainfall can satisfy these herbs. Peppermint needs some more attention, but this can be easily accommodated by an automatic drip watering system.

Landscape fabric is a great way to keep weeds from growing in your garden, ruining the beauty of your garden and choking out your precious herbs. Digging up weeds later can be tiring and frustrating, while using herbicides might kill your herbs since they have a similar makeup. You also do not want to spray poison on your future food supply.

Herbs have a good resistance to bugs. However, you might still want to include some “sacrifice” plants in your herb garden plans. For example Dill is an excellent “trap plant” that invites pests to it instead of your other plants.

One thing about learning how to build an herb garden is knowing when to plant. Plan when you are going to plant which herbs by judging how well they will do at the beginning of the year and at various times throughout the year. There are herbs that can be sown anytime, others that can be planted at intervals of four weeks, and as early as possible after the snow melts.
