Wear That BBQ Grill Apron!

Wearing an apron is just not manly. No man would be caught dead in one and just doesn’t feel right. Would a man wear a dress? There is a flip side. Men working in a kitchen understand the importance of wearing an apron and for safety reason will tell you why a bbq grill apron is important.

Most men do tend to grill more often than women and men are more reluctant to wear a bbq grill apron when grilling. There are certainly some good reasons why men should wear a bbq grill apron.

For one, consider just where it is that you’re standing and what you’re working with. A person that is working in the kitchen baking is probably not going to be in much danger - the hot oven is way over there, and the batter they’re mixing is all the way across the kitchen. For them, an apron is a matter of neatness to protect their clothes.

Keep this thought in the back of your mind because a bbq grill apron has been designed and made too be worn around open flames that produce a lot of heat. We don’t want to soil our favorite shirt do we? But lets consider something else. What about protecting the front of us from burns? Manufacturers make bbq grill aprons from thicker material to help prevent burns or injuries.

You may even think all this protection is not required, since you are an expert at the outdoor bbq grill. Heck you have been grilling for years and think; “Leave me alone. I know what I’m doing”. Yeah right. How often have we heard, or have seen, or even done ourselves and have let the grill get away from us; and have been greeted by a wall of flame when we have opened the grill lid!

Don’t be mistaken; if it can happen to them it can happen to you. The bbq grill apron is your front line defense and protection and will help you when that wall of flame hits.

The bbq grill apron is also a useful accessory. They generally have pockets so you can carry around spices and seasonings, or grillware. The bbq grill apron is manufactured and designed with men in mind, no need to worry about lace or frilly aprons. The manly look you get from a bbq grill apron will also protect from burns and other injuries.

Hey PSP Owners! Here’s An Easy Way To Find PSP Game Downloads

If you are reading chances are you are the lucky owner of a PSP. Chances are that you have also heard about the possibilities of downloading games, movies and music on to your PSP. This is a good way to make sure that you are never bored and that you always have your PSP stocked with games, music and movies. Now the question is “How do I download PSP games, music and movies to my system?”

You have a few options to download psp games - some are risky and others are not. Let’s take a closer look at what I mean.

The first thing you should remember when looking for downloadable games is that you get what you pay for. This is especially true for sites that say they offer free games, movies, music and more for PSPs. Free sites usually give you a lot more than free downloads and I don’t mean that as a good thing. You will find that many games, movies and music come with viruses and spyware attached.

Since these websites don’t pull in any profit, the files are usually just provided by random people on the internet. They aren’t “official” game downloads and often end up being corrupt (meaning they don’t work at all). The download speeds are incredibly slow and you will often find that what you download ends up being a completely different file than you searched for.

Obviously we aren’t about to recommend these websites. They are just too risky and can waste a lot of your time as well!

A much better way to find PSP downloads is to look for a specialty PSP download membership website. There are websites that will let you download unlimited PSP games, movies and music when you sign-up as a member of these sites.

It is a wonder why more people have not decided to join membership sites. Since you only have to pay one-time (and less than the cost of one game!) it offers tremendous value.

The best paid sites are the ones that only charge the one time fee. For a small fee of $30 to $50 you will be able to download whatever you want without ever having to spend another dime. By choosing sites like these you are ensured that you are downloading from reputable businesses. These businesses work hard to make sure their downloads work, download quickly and are virus and spyware free.

One of the best features of the PSP is the ability to download games, movies and music instead of having to but them at the stores. Not only will it save you a lot of money in the long-run, but you will als be sure your PSP is fully stocked with the newest games without ever having to make a trip to the store. Happy gaming!

Guide to Remodeling Your Counter Tops

How to prepare the surface for the laminate

I recommend that you use laminate plastic sheets which are 1/16″ thick when used on horizontal work surfaces. If you are using it to cover vertical surfaces then you should use thicker plastic perhaps as thick as 1/32″ thick.

You should make sure that you clean the surface before you are ready to install the laminate, especially if it is a well-used surface such as an island counter in your kitchen. Remove anything which is on the surface such as paint or varnish. Clean the countertop using household cleaners to remove grease and grime. Most countertops which were purchased recently are made from high density particle board. Plywood bases are also suitable for using laminate plastic.

How to Cut the Laminate Plastic to Size

The plastic laminate material is actually fairly easy to cut, you can cut it with a utility knife, backsaw or even a circular saw depending on what you prefer. You should make sure you use a blade with fine teeth so that it doesn’t cause rough cuts. Before cutting you should use masking take to protect the surface from chips.

When you are using a circular saw then you should make a point of cutting from the back of the laminate to the front. These types of saws will cut on the upstroke, by cutting from the back you will prevent causing chips and damaging the surface. When using hand saws you should cut from the front side but at a small angle.

You should always cut the sheets slightly bigger than you need and then trim them with a utility knife when you install them. This reduces the chance of wasting material.

Fitting the laminate

The plastic laminate sheet can be applied using contact cement. You can also use epoxy adhesive however I would suggest using contact cements where possible.

You should roughen the surface by using rough sandpaper, and then clean away the dust using a brush or compressed air.

When laying the sheets you should be very careful to get it right first time. When using contact cement the bond will be strongest if you don’t move it around a lot. You should make sure that everything is accurately located before the glue is touched.

When you are installing the laminate sheets to vertical surfaces it’s normally fairly easy to stick the sheets without needing to use any wooden strips.

The Finishing Touches

When you have taken time to position the laminate correctly you should then remove the rods of dowel individually to stick the two pieces together.

Apply even pressure using a roller which will cause the laminate sheets to stick to the work surface. This will also remove any bubbles and ensure that the sheet is firmly fixed to your countertop. It’s worthwhile spending time on this because it will help your worktop last much longer.

If you don’t have a large enough piece of plastic laminate to cover the surface then you need to make a seam. This is fairly easy, you need to stick two pieces together, start by sticking the larger piece to the countertop and then add the other one.

To finish the edges you should use your router. First make sure that the blade is clean, also put tape on the base to protect your work surface.

Remove any extra adhesive using solvents, or simply nail polish remover if you wish.
