Red Roses History And Significance

Roses have a history that’s 35 million years old. Today over 150 species of roses are cultivated on all continents but one. The most famous of all these roses is the red rose. Nothing can display love and affection better than 12 fresh red roses.

People began growing roses for pleasure more than 5,000 years ago. In addition to their beauty, rose petals were thrown like confetti at parties and parades, and rose oil was used for both its intoxicating scent and as a natural medicine.

While the repressed and extremely formal Victorians used flower types and colors to express sentiments not considered proper to speak, the practice of red roses being linked to love extends to ancient Rome. That culture of elegance and style often used symbolic means of expression including flowers, but the complex system of hidden meanings really became prominent with the Victorians. In that time, many different flowers other than roses began to be included.

It is not only the color of red roses that carry significant meaning; you can send a different message depending on how open or closed the flower blooms are. By presenting a bouquet of roses that are unopened, you are offering a symbol of youth and innocence. If the bouquet of a dozen red roses is made up of fully opened roses, the love is in full bloom-befitting for an anniversary celebration.

Just as the form of the bloom carries importance, so does the number of roses given. A single rose bud communicates simplicity, which is why it is a favorite among new, young romantics. A full bouquet of a dozen fresh red roses says, “I love you still.”

Pink roses, too, carry important messages. Each shade of pink has a different meaning: Dark pink roses represent appreciation and respect, while the lighter shades show sympathetic feelings. Incorporating a mix of both red and pink rosebuds means that you find the recipient very beautiful and vibrant.

The value of a dozen fresh red roses has grown drastically over the years due to the great care and work that it takes gardeners to cultivate them. But, the ease of choosing flower delivery via the phone or Internet has made the once difficult process of sending loved ones a message of love easier than ever.

Things To Remember With Bathroom Remodeling Designs

by Ann Triune

Are you thinking of bathroom remodeling designs? Maybe it’s about time that you do. There may be a need to change the size and look of your bathroom. Remodeling is the only solution. There are however, some important points to remember when you decide to remodel. Keep these in mind to ensure a successful bathroom project.

Budget Comes First

It goes without saying that any design will not work without a budget. Your finances should therefore be the first thing that you should pay attention to. What you can afford can have a big impact on the final look and design of your bathroom. Your budget will help determine the kind of tiles, fixtures and layout you can use. It will also determine which service providers you can afford to get.

Designs Can be Studied

Some people have clear ideas about what they want. Many of us however, need some inspiration to understand what is really personally desirable. This is crucial because you would need your own bathroom design concept first so the experts can build it for you. Make your desires specific by looking at various bathroom designs. There are so many of them in magazines and online sites. While you are studying the designs, you will also get an idea about which material types you prefer. You will find out for example that tiles aren’t just ceramic. They can also be marble or vinyl. Bath tubs and showers also come in a variety of designs.

The Opinion of Professionals Matter

Bathroom remodeling designs should start with you. This doesn’t mean though that everything you want can be done. Experts can tell you if your plans will work out or not. They can also tell you whether you are overshooting your budget or not. This is why it pays to consult an expert first. If you have some design and remodeling experience, you could hire individual designers, carpenters and plumbers to consult and work with. It would be a better idea though to get a contractor if you know nothing about remodeling. You can pay a contractor a fee first just for consultation before pushing through with a project.

Your Choice of Experts Matters

You can’t just randomly pick a contractor from a list. A bad contractor can ruin the best and most appropriate designs. A good contractor on the other hand can make even the simplest designs true works of art. You should therefore always conduct a thorough background check on your contractor before pushing through with your project.

Better Assemble Everything You Need

Before the remodeling date begins, make sure everything is ready. The on site availability of your materials and tools can help get the job done faster. Ask your contractor for a close estimate of how many tiles you need and how big your fixtures should be. Buy what you need days before your contractor starts work. Buying only while the work is in progress can put you in a snag. Some materials might go out of stock or prices could increase and affect your budget.

These are just the basic considerations for bathroom remodeling designs. Take note of these basic reminders so you can make your bathroom dreams a reality.

Best Home Security - How To Decide

When you have a security system that offers reliable service, makes you feel at ease, and has dependable components, you know you have the best home security system. A good system is usually hardwired to prevent interference, something that frequently occurs in wireless systems.

It will be loaded with lots of different features: Motion detectors, sensors for the doors, sensors for the windows, sensors for the garage door, possible some cameras and monitors, a keypad installed on each floor, extra locks along with the normal deadbolt… the list goes on.

Of course, for the best in home security, you’re going to want reliable monitoring. The big companies like ADT and Brinks are your best bets for this.

Since these two companies are gigantic, they can afford to give you service 24/7. An actual person will respond each time your alarm goes off.

Be sure to sign up for a service that won’t penalize you for a false alarm. Nobody’s perfect. Accidents happen!

You also need to be sure that the system is all set to dial them from a local number. If the system dials a 1-800 number, you could get charged for each call.

Go to your friends and family to find out if they’ve had good experience with a security system; that’s a great way to find the best home security system for yourself. Anyone who’s dealt with this can be a big help when you do your research.

When you meet with the salespeople for the security companies, ask lots of questions. Pay attention to their recommendations, but remember that they are salespeople who want you to buy a lot, and some of them will use scare tactics and high pressure sales techniques.

You should not sign a contract right away. Instead, you should review different quotes and READ THE CONTRACTS before deciding. You may find lots of surprises buried in the fine print. Don’t ever sign a contract you don’t fully understand.

The best security companies will offer you a lot of options. You will be able to choose from additional upgrades, but you should be able to walk away with the basic package without feeling guilty.

If you take the time to do your homework, you’ll be able to buy the best home security system available without breaking your bank account.
