How To Market Your Home Based Business Online

Saturday, December 29th, 2007
by Stephen Meyer

In order to build your home based business you will need to market it both online and offline. Here I will discuss marketing it online and what can produce the greatest benefit with the least cost. While there are many ways to promote your home based business through free advertising not all of those ways will be productive. Sometimes what looks to be the most productive way is actually the least productive?

Free For All Sites

Free For All sites known as FFA sites can appear to be very productive. Most have extremely large user bases, often with millions of members. Nothing sounds better than advertising your Home based business to 1 million people and more for free. It is simple to submit to these sites.

The submission form has a top box for your “Headline” a second box for your text and a third box for the URL of the site you are promoting. They ask for your name and email address but your email address is not published in your advertisement. It is though given to the other members of the FFA site to use for advertising their product. You can expect to get hundreds and thousands of emails from site members all promoting what they have to offer. If you use these sites use an email address that is not your main email, gmail and others are good for this.

The problem I see with this type of advertising comes from my own behavior when receiving the hundreds of emails. I often just highlight as many emails as possible and delete them all very quickly. I don’t bother trying to read them because of the sheer numbers I receive. I am sure most members do the same thing. Also, I track all my advertisements using specific URLs and I have not once had a response even when sending many advertisements. In my opinion it is a waste of time.

Traffic Exchanges

I enjoy using Traffic exchanges because of the variety of advertisements I can see and learn from. You can advertise for free using the sign up credits and then clicking ads for even more credits. The time you must visit a site is put on a timer and you have to wait to click another ad. To use these sites affectively you must use a Splash page otherwise known as a Lead Capture page. The point of your page is to get the visitors name and email address. You do not want to try and sell them here. You only want to gain enough interest to get their information so you can sell them through your email or news letter campaign. Using your main sales page or web site will give you little benefit because the visitor will not be there long. Like you they are surfing for credits. These sites can be productive if used correctly but they can also be a waste of time you could otherwise use with better tactics.

Using Articles For Site Promotion

Article marketing is by far the number one way to promote your home based business. The good part is it can be done for free. Many people believe you must have a lot of skills to affectively write an article but that couldn’t further from the truth. It simply involves having knowledge about the subject you are writing about. If you can talk about a subject with your family and friends or can write an email you can also write an article. The benefits of Article writing are very long lasting. It’s common for website publishers to add articles to their web sites that were written many years earlier if the information is still applicable as it often is.

After you have written you submit your article to Article directories. There are some free tools available that can be found by doing a web search that make it easier to submit to multiple sites. Your submission is not the end of it. The Article directories will take your article and make it available to their members to publish on their sites. As time goes by your article can be found on hundreds of sites because directories will pass it on to other directories that in turn pass it on to their members. This creates valuable backlinks pointing to your web site that are used by search engines in evaluating your sites importance. The more back links the more importance and the greater your page rank. In building a home based business online this is the single most important factor you must have. Site rank means visitors and visitors mean sales.

What Are The Causes Of Divorce?

Saturday, December 29th, 2007
by Alisha Rowd

There are many reasons why people want a divorce. It could be easy to put a reason for the sake of supporting a divorce petition. In reality though, there may be hundreds of unique reasons why certain couples just want out. Sometimes, there is more that just one reason. Here are only some of the possible causes of divorce:

Communication Problems

It is quite possible that a couple could have communication problems long before they decided to tie the knot. Expectations may not have been made clear or certain issues that could affect a marriage were not brought up. Discussing feelings about aspects that are personally important is also crucial but may not always be practiced by couples. Some couples may put little weight on pre-marital issues only to realize during marriage that they should have clearly set things in black and white or that hey should have been better listeners. Communication issues before marriage can get worse after getting married.

Financial Issues

Another major cause of disagreement between married couples is, of course, financial matters. Married couples could squabble over such issues as shared financial responsibility, unequal financial status, undisclosed financial state, over spending and lack of financial support. Evidence suggests though that money is not always the sole or primary cause of divorce. Nonetheless, it is still a significant factor. Again, the lack of communication over financial issues is the real culprit here and not money per se.

Forms of Abuse

All forms of abuse are possible causes of divorce. This does not just include intentional and habitual physical battery. Abuse may also come in the form of sexual abuse and emotional abuse. One partner may actively seek to degrade his/her partner through harsh language.

Drug and alcohol abuse as well as excessive gambling that is becoming detrimental to the marriage may also be used as a form of abuse. There may be no physical or verbal abuse but the other partner would understandably have a difficult time managing finances and daily life with an addicted spouse.

Marital Infidelity

Marriage is a mutually exclusive arrangement between two parties. This is of course unless both partners privately consent on their own to see other people while remaining married to each other. Otherwise, one may seek to divorce a spouse if evidence of infidelity is clearly obtained.

Sexual Problems

Sex is an essential aspect of marriage. Couples are expected to consummate or perform the act. That is unless a person knows and accepts before marriage that one partner has some sexual problems. In some cases, sexual dysfunction or disinterest may begin after tying the knot. If a couple is unable to resolve this, it may become a reason for divorce.

Incompatibility

This is often cited as one of the causes of divorce. There are however numerous kinds and forms of incompatibility. A couple may be incompatible in anything and everything. They may not be able to find a common ground sexually, intellectually and emotionally. In cases of incompatibility, it might just be unbearable to live life with someone you just can’t fit with.

Top Stress Busting Activities As A Natural Cure For Acid Reflux

Saturday, December 29th, 2007
by Richal Peyton

Acid reflux is actually quite common among individuals and highly treatable. However, people still want to know the best cure for acid reflux. There’s a lot of medication and oral treatments that can be used to cure acid reflux. However, they usually cannot be used as long-term treatment. This is why many turn to a natural cure for acid reflux, whether it is used in conjunction with conventional treatment or simply as preventive treatment.

There is no medical study yet that has proven stress as a direct cause of acid reflux. However, many experts agree that stress is a major factor in contributing to the symptoms of the condition. Because physical activity has been known to reduce stress, those suffering from acid reflux can benefit from it. Let’s talk about the three major activities that can help treat acid reflux, naturally.

Activity 1: Conventional Exercise

Studies have shown that obesity actually worsens the symptoms of acid reflux. When you overeat, your stomach will need to secrete more acid to digest all of the food you consumed. This means that excess acid can build up in the stomach. Therefore, exercise is needed to maintain a healthy weight.

Exercise may cause acid reflux, but this is because some exercise positions like bending can bring acid up to the esophagus. It’s a myth that exercise in general causes acid reflux-you just need to know which exercises you can and cannot do. Avoid bending (i.e. sit ups), bouncing, and applying too much pressure on the abdomen while exercising.

Aerobic and anaerobic exercises like step exercises, bicycling, stair climbing and stretching are some of the conventional exercises that help treat acid reflux. When doing weight training, use weight machines instead. As you can see, these exercises don’t require a lot of bending and bouncing, so acid is kept below the esophagus.

Activity 2: Yoga And Stretching

Yoga is known to treat many conditions because of its ability to reduce stress. Certain poses like the Sukhasana are designed to straighten the spine and help reduce metabolism and therefore over-activity in the digestive system. Different poses actually enhance each other. There are poses that incorporate breathing exercises that help further reduce stress while other poses improve your overall physical health. Because yoga mainly utilizes your own strength with very little force or exertion, you’re able to easily maintain yoga exercises and therefore easily treat acid reflux in the long run.

Activity 3: Meditation

Meditation is known to alleviate painful and discomforting symptoms of acid reflux. Try closing your eyes and releasing all kinds of thought from your mind. Simply breathe deeply and feel every sensation accompanied by your breathing, including your muscles loosening up and your whole body entering into a more relaxed state. You may then start to visualize something positive, like being in a tranquil place or simply looking at a perfectly blue sky. These simple techniques have been shown to reduce stress remarkably and so can naturally sooth nasty symptoms of acid reflux.

Most of the effective natural cure for acid reflux would require one to be proactive. While taking medication can treat you for now, think about what other things you can do to prevent acid reflux. Before trying out any of the methods in this article, consult your doctor first.
